This home came out to about eighteen squares or 1,800 square feet and took our crew one day to complete.

We had five journeymen work from 6 AM to 5:15 PM.  We did not do any work on the tile roof or one-story flat roof areas. Since this roof only has one layer, we were able to install a roof on top of the existing roof as city code allows two layers of roofing. We cut out buckles in the existing roofing, removed roofing from pipes and swept the surface clean.

We replaced the existing canales with new TPO canales and mechanically fastened ½” thick expanded polystyrene insulation over the roof substrate. We installed 60 mil TPO and welded together. Even though it looks white in the drone photos, we used tan colored TPO. The tan is very light – similar to a manila folder. We installed Versiweld TPO flashing to parapet walls and vertical surfaces. We then installed termination bar at edge of all flashings and caulked it.

Finally, boots were installed on all penetrations, clamped and caulked. We inspected and probed all seams and detail work. Our roofing crew used all the appropriate safety procedures, such as wearing hard hats, safety ropes, tying off the ladder, etc. The new roof carries a twelve year labor warranty and twenty year material warranty. We pulled a permit through the city and passed the final inspection.
