This project was 29 squares or 2,900 square feet and included 15 squares of Tile and 14 squares of TPO roofing.

The townhome we remodeled is in the middle of the photo with the bright white roof. On the pitched area, we removed existing tile and hauled it away. Titanium PSU 30 modified peel and stick underlayment was installed, in addition to new furring strips and new red “S” tile. Finally, we mortared all pipes and details to finish off the Tile portion.

Next, we tore off 3 layers of roofing on the flat roof area. Code enforcement only allows 2 roofing layers so we replaced the existing canales with new TPO metal canales. We fit a ¼ inch per foot Expanded Polystyrene tapered insulation system and a ½ inch fanfold insulation on the new addition. A 60 mil Carlisle TPO roof system with wall flashings was also added to the top of the parapet plus a TPO metal termination strip. New TPO pipe boots were inserted at penetrations. For efficiency purposes, we coordinated with an insulation company so that they could blow-in insulation when we had the roof open. Lastly, we pulled a city permit for this roofing work and passed final inspection.

We worked on this roof for 4 days. On the first day, we had 13 men working from 7 AM to 5:15 PM. On the second day, we had 5 men working from 7 AM to 5:15 PM. On the third day, we had 3 men working from 7 AM to 4:15 PM. On the fourth day, we had 6 men working, 3 worked from 7 AM to 5 PM and 3 worked from 1:45 PM to 5 PM. Boom.
